CALLAO ISLANDS
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo known as Shira the god, or god of the sea; was adored by the cultures that developed along the coast, was a kind god offering magical lands for cultivation, was so in 1906 the archaeologist Max Uhle after digging in the Island found human remains, more than 400 ceramics from the Moche and Chimu cultures in addition to one of the largest multi-colored robes throughout Peru, among other things.
In colonial times the name was changed to San Lorenzo, when it was used as trench pirates such as Francis Drake called "L'Hermite," who met his death after a confrontation with the Spanish forces in the island of San Lorenzo.
It is currently used by Navy and Air Force as a training center, warehouse, and communications center, among others.

El Fronton
El Fronton was known as Isla del Muerto, since many people are dying to run out of water and food for compulsory quarantine given in colonial times. This island took on greater importance in the Republican era when it was used mainly as a prison, there came to be imprisoned bank robbers, hardened criminals and terrorists, while serving during the military dictatorship as a prison for political prisoners such as former President Fernando Belaunde Terry.

Cabinza
Cabinzas are the last center guano compared to Callao, where there is still a small dock landing of guano, which dates from the same period of the exploitation of guano (XIX century - 1945), plus some small walls around the island, with which the workmen extractors are aided in the collection of guano. Currently are home to hundreds of birds, which they use as nesting and resting place.

Palomino
Palomino is the habitat of more than 5000 sea lions. This island was formerly used as a guano island, activity ceased due to a decline in the bird population, allowing the sea lions take over the islands palomino and reproduce normally, becoming the largest sea lions colony.
